HR Manager – Manufacturing Operations
We are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to join a fast-growing manufacturing company in Houston, TX. This role will support day-to-day HR operations for a production workforce of approximately 150 employees, most of whom are Spanish-speaking. The ideal candidate is a bilingual HR professional with a solid foundation in manufacturing HR practices and a passion for creating a positive workplace culture.
Role Summary:
- Oversee daily HR operations in a fast-paced production facility
- Act as a trusted partner to management and employees regarding HR policies, labor laws, and company procedures
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions with professionalism and discretion
- Handle onboarding, offboarding, employee training, and performance reviews
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws
- Oversee benefits administration, open enrollment, and payroll processing in coordination with HRIS and vendor systems
- Coordinate with external staffing vendors and manage contingent workforce needs
- Support recruiting efforts for production, administrative, and support staff roles
- Maintain and update employee files, records, and HR documentation
- Partner with leadership to implement HR strategies aligned with company goals
HR Manager Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience working with HRIS systems (ADP preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-volume setting
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
