Position Overview:
- Schedule: Full-time, 12-month role
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging lesson plans and set clear academic and behavioral goals
- Adapt instruction based on assessments to promote both learning and social skills
- Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to classroom support staff
- Collaborate closely with families, service providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Deliver personalized 1:1 instruction tailored to each student’s needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education required; Master’s degree preferred
- New York State Certified Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for NYC certification transfer)
- 2–5 years of experience as a lead special education teacher
- Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Deep passion for working with and supporting children with diverse needs
