Our client is a private equity-owned manufacturer of customized industrial control panels founded over 80 years ago. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to support sales growth through vetting of quotation opportunities, project costing, and customer proposal preparation.

Automation & Controls Outside Sales Responsibilities:

  • Responding quickly to quotation requests
  • Proactively identify new business prospects for custom control panel solutions
  • Promptly evaluate customer problems and present technical solutions using electrical expertise
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to provide customized solutions that meet customers' needs and to evaluate risk, profit, scope of supply, and overall project schedule
  • Position the company as the customers' primary consultant and solution provider
  • Stay current on UL508A standards, industry trends and competition

Automation & Controls Outside Sales Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of electrical power industry sales experience preferably selling industrial automation, electrical components or systems
  • Strong expertise in switchboards, switchgear, electrical distribution equipment/electrical and mechanical principles, control wiring, and control schematics; experience with low to high voltage from <600V up to 69KV
  • Knowledgeable about UL508A Panels standards and industrial control panel construction
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics, drawings and panel layouts
  • Demonstrated success with good proposal process methods;
  • Financial acumen and understanding of profit margins
  • Strong problem solver and adept at relationships with internal and external stakeholders
