Our San Francisco office is seeking a skilled Litigation Assistant (Defense) to enhance our defense litigation team. The Litigation Assistant (Defense) will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of civil litigation processes and court regulations, particularly within California's state and federal jurisdictions. This position involves supporting multiple attorneys and requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to prioritize competing deadlines, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and accuracy.

Litigation Assistant (Defense) Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary of $80,000-100,000

Litigation Assistant (Defense) Responsibilities:

  • Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence
  • File documents through state and federal e-filing systems (including CM/ECF)
  • Maintain litigation calendars and track critical deadlines
  • Schedule depositions, IMEs, and coordinate with outside vendors
  • Manage client correspondence, case files, and trial binders
  • Assist attorneys with time entry, billing, and expense reports

Litigation Assistant (Defense) Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of litigation assistant experience (defense side strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with insurance defense and civil litigation procedures
  • Excellent written, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and court e-filing systems
  • Experience with ProLaw, iManage, or similar systems is a plus
