Job Title: Facade Design Engineering Manager

Location: Hybrid (Remote + Burtonsville, MD)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Facade Design Engineering Manager to oversee structural curtain wall and facade projects from design coordination through fabrication and delivery. This pivotal role emphasizes effective management of schedules, budgets, vendor relationships, and client communication to ensure successful project execution. The position involves working primarily from our office, with periodic travel to vendor facilities and project sites nationwide.

Responsibilities:

• Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of curtain wall projects, from initial submittals through production and delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to align technical specifications and delivery requirements, facilitating smooth project workflows.
• Schedule and Budget Development: Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and material procurement plans to optimize resource allocation and cost management.
• Contract Oversight: Manage contract reviews, change orders, and essential documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and close out packages to ensure compliance and project transparency.
• Site Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits to assess manufacturing and job site conditions, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain project integrity.
• Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve design conflicts and technical issues during both the preconstruction and production phases to minimize disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years managing curtain wall, façade, or structural glazing projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of façade systems and engineering principles.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in construction management tools such as Bluebeam and Procore, with a strong grasp of curtain wall fabrication (unitized and stick-built systems) and installation sequencing.
• Project Management Skills: Proven ability in project scheduling, contract negotiation, and budget management, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Interpersonal Abilities: Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Compensation:

• Salary: $150,000 – $175,000 base salary
• Bonus Opportunities: Potential bonuses based on project performance
