Vice President of Accounting Operations is needed to join a dynamic and expanding hospitality group, known for its high-quality assets and respected brands across multiple states. This role is based in Grand Rapids, MI.
Vice President of Accounting Operations | Benefits & Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA designation is a plus
- 3–5 years of accounting experience in a multi-unit hotel environment
- Must be available to work onsite during standard business hours
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Capable of leading and mentoring a small accounting team
Vice President of Accounting Operations | Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting functions, financial reporting processes, and internal controls across the organization
- Handle reporting for a portfolio of hotels in multiple states, including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger management, monthly and annual closes, and audit prep
- Partner with leadership to manage property-level budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial planning
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes, sales/use tax reports, and other regulatory filings in line with GAAP, IRS, and local compliance standards
- Maintain oversight of general ledger reconciliation, bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and debt tracking
- Design and enforce policies for cash flow optimization to support daily operations and future expansion
- Develop and uphold a document retention system that complies with state and federal regulations across all departments and locations
- Inspire, train, and guide the accounting team—including property accountants and payroll staff—to promote operational excellence
