Senior Network Engineer
Overview:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructures. This includes executing moderately complex network upgrades and handling routine operations and maintenance (O&M). Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing moderate complexity network segments, concentrating on specific areas of the network.
- Implementing upgrades to network systems while ensuring compliance with performance specifications.
- Assessing user requests for network upgrades or additions and determining their potential effects on overall network performance.
- Offering strategic advice and insight into the most effective technical solutions to meet user needs.
- Planning and executing enhancements to existing network configurations, ensuring effective integration and peak performance in line with system characteristics and interface specifications.
- Employing network analysis tools to diagnose and resolve performance challenges within the network.
- Collaborating with a variety of technologies to support the network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Senior Network Engineer Required Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of focused LINUX Network Engineering NOT windows or active directory focused
TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polly Clearance
Candidates must possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Design, configuration, and maintenance of Ethernet and IP LANs.
- Design, configuration, and maintenance of SONET-Based WANs.
- Design, configuration, and maintenance using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).
- Design, configuration, and maintenance of Linux desktops, servers, and other devices within secure IT environments.
- Configuration and management of enterprise storage solutions (e.g., SAN solutions like HPE 3PAR, NetApp, EMC).
- Designing, configuring, and maintaining server virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere, Windows Hyper-V, or similar software.
- Implementation and maintenance of VOIP solutions with Cisco, Polycom, or comparable technologies.
- Design, configuration, and maintenance of video teleconferencing (VTC) systems with Cisco, Polycom, or similar solutions.
- Configuration and upkeep of COMSEC systems (NSA GOTS/Type-1).
- Installation and maintenance of the aforementioned technologies at various distributed sites.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level Cisco network, VOIP, and VTC devices.
- Experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and other enterprise-class VMware solutions.
Senior Network Engineer Education Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant domain can replace a Bachelor’s degree only if the latter is not in a suitable field. Alternatively, 4 years of pertinent work experience may satisfy educational criteria.
Senior Network Engineer Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in advanced network troubleshooting and performance optimization in large-scale enterprise settings.
- Knowledge of security standards and best practices for safeguarding network infrastructures.
- Practical experience with cloud networking and hybrid cloud integration.
This position demands a blend of extensive technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the capability to assess complex network needs while ensuring seamless integration and high-level performance for enterprise network infrastructures.
