A premier litigation team focused on advancing civil rights and disability justice is seeking a Civil Rights Litigation Associate Attorney to join their growing practice. Key Responsibilities

  • Litigate civil rights cases in federal and state courts, including trial and appellate levels
  • Draft complaints, dispositive motions, discovery materials, and legal briefs
  • Conduct legal research on complex constitutional and civil rights issues
  • Take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and support trial preparation
  • Appear for court hearings, oral arguments, and mediations
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on case strategy
  • Maintain a high-volume caseload while ensuring legal excellence

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (New York strongly preferred)
  • 3–5 years of litigation experience, ideally in federal court or civil rights matters
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Prior clerkship, law review, or moot court experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, or public interest law
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
