Are you a talented Pastry Chef looking for an opportunity to get out of the city? We are looking for a passionate pastry professional who is a leader and role model, self-motivated, and able to excel under pressure. This talented pastry artist will oversee the main restaurant, production, plating, and support our upscale cafe and bakery. We seek a meticulous pastry chef driven to excel at the highest level and lead a team.
Pastry Chef Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of the bakery/pastry staff, ensuring quality control measures are being adhered to
- Collaborate with and follow through with the Executive Pastry Chef
- Strong kitchen and leadership skills with a proven ability to coach and develop staff
- Plan, prep, set up, and prepare quality products in all areas of pastry, costing, scheduling, inventory, hiring, training, and R&D
- Develop workable solutions to solve department and guest-related problems
- Accept the need for flexibility and respond to evolving circumstances
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven, demanding environment
Pastry Chef Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a pastry chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably pedigree from Michelin Star-level execution
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar function
- Expert skill set in international cuisine and technique
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Very good knowledge of pastry arts and ingredients
- Confident culinary techniques and skills with the drive for excellence under pressure
- Good sense of planning and preparation
- Diligent and meticulous in placing and receiving orders
- Strong organizational and time management skills
