Maintenance Mechanic – Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing (food industry preferred)
  • Hands-on knowledge of carton machines, flow wraps, extruders, labelers, metal detectors, ovens, and conveyors
  • Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication (MIG/TIG) and using a multimeter
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
  • Strong computer skills for generating maintenance documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team

Maintenance Mechanic – What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and fabricate modifications for processing and packaging machinery, conveyor lines, and automated systems
  • Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on facility equipment
  • Break down assemblies into components and reassemble without blueprints
  • Lubricate machinery and complete PM documentation and work orders
  • Develop and implement efficiency, uptime, and safety improvements
  • Adhere to GMP/GSP standards and maintain clean, organized maintenance areas
