Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time (possible FT over time) Occupational Therapist to join their team in a geriatric care setting. The ideal candidate will work with older adults to help them regain and maintain their independence through therapeutic interventions that improve daily living skills, mobility, and overall function.
Occupational Therapist Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions aimed at improving daily living activities (e.g., dressing, bathing, cooking) and promoting patient independence.
- Develop and implement rehabilitation programs tailored to the needs of geriatric patients, addressing mobility, strength, cognitive function, and coordination.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and families about techniques and strategies to improve home and community safety, as well as long-term care plans.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and progress in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Occupational Therapist Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of New Jersey.
- Previous experience working with geriatric patients in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
