We are looking for a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our client's team. This position provides a great opportunity for proactive, self-driven individuals to take on varied projects while receiving support from a respected team of professionals.

Structural Engineer Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
• Ability to stay current with different editions of the International Building Codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to prepare written plan review correspondence and update information in company software programs.
• Good time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated initiative and strong independent judgment.
• Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, contractors, governmental agencies, the general public, and other clientele.

Structural Engineer Requirements:

• Regularly interacts directly with municipal clients and their staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Assesses and resolves complaints from clients, applicants, public, designers, and contractors in a timely manner.
• Reviews all plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to verify compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Attends meetings, educational seminars, and other functions related to building codes to stay informed of industry trends.
• Provides technical direction and support to inspection personnel regarding field issues and challenges.
• May be required to perform inspections on an as-needed basis, offering code interpretation in the field.

Structural Engineer Requirements:

• FL PE License in Structural Engineering (required).
• 3-5 years of combined experience in building department field inspections and plans examiner duties.
• Meets Miami-Dade County's Board of Rules and Appeals Certification requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Acceptable driving record.
