Our client is seeking an experienced and focused Talent & Succession Planning Specialist to design, implement, and manage performance management and succession planning programs that drive employee engagement and align with business goals. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, you will collaborate with leadership and HR to identify high-potential employees, coordinate development plans, and ensure that performance and promotion processes support organizational success. This role is in-person in Tyson's Corner.
Talent & Succession Planning Specialist Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and evaluations.
- Support succession planning efforts by identifying high-potential employees and coordinating structured development plans.
- Facilitate data collection and reporting for leadership calibration sessions regarding employee readiness and performance trends.
- Assist in the promotion process by aligning career progression initiatives with talent review cycles and business needs.
- Create tools and training materials to support managers and employees in effective performance and development discussions.
- Analyze performance and succession data to provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders.
- Guide employees and managers on available development opportunities and career pathways.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to ensure talent strategies drive employee engagement and organizational success.
- Adapt strategies to support a diverse workforce across several business units, including IT, engineering, and construction.
Talent & Succession Planning Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8-10 years’ experience in talent management, performance management, succession planning, or HR operations.
- Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
