Are you a talented, driven culinary leader ready to take the next step in your career? A highly regarded, upscale, modern American restaurant in Tampa is seeking an Executive Sous Chef who is eager to grow in the near future. This is a confidential opportunity to join a forward-thinking hospitality group dedicated to culinary excellence, elevated guest experiences, and innovative cuisine.
As Executive Sous Chef, you will work directly alongside the Executive Chef, overseeing a high-volume, scratch kitchen that blends global influences with modern American flavors. This position is designed as a stepping stone to Executive Chef, offering an ambitious candidate the chance to take full ownership of the kitchen in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the kitchen team, ensuring high standards in execution, consistency, and presentation
- Assist in menu development, seasonal updates, and creative specials
- Manage BOH operations, including ordering, inventory control, and food cost management
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are upheld
- Drive efficiency and innovation while maintaining a positive, team-oriented culture
- Act as the right hand to the Executive Chef with the ability to step into leadership when needed
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of leadership experience in upscale, high-volume kitchens
- Strong understanding of modern culinary techniques, international flavors, and refined plating
- A hands-on, solutions-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for developing teams and fostering a culture of excellence
- Financial acumen with experience managing food and labor costs
- Ambition to grow into the Executive Chef role within a structured timeframe
