FDOT Project Surveyor Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license in Florida (Chapter 472, Florida Statutes)
  • 10+ years of experience in FDOT surveying and mapping projects
  • FDOT pre-qualification in 8.1, 8.2, and 8.4 required
  • Manage and supervise all surveying activities for FDOT projects
  • Ensure compliance with FDOT standards, specifications, and procedures
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Lead and mentor a team of surveyors and mappers
  • Develop business opportunities and secure new FDOT contracts
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Geopak, and MicroStation
  • Strong background in several of the following: ALTA surveys, design surveys for roadways and pipelines, including reading and interpreting Right of Way Maps, construction layout, and staking, including reading and interpreting construction plans, and preparation of calculations for a stakeout and reading, interpreting, and preparing legal descriptions
