Our firm is looking for a paralegal to join our team of medical malpractice attorneys in our San Francisco firm. Responsibilities for the Paralegal:
- Conduct detailed research on laws, legal precedents, regulations, and legal articles relevant to cases.
- Draft and prepare legal documents such as contracts, affidavits, motions, pleadings, and subpoenas.
- Organize and manage case files, maintaining case calendars, tracking important deadlines, and managing exhibits.
- Act as a liaison between attorneys and clients, scheduling meetings, and often providing case updates.
- File legal documents with courts and agencies, ensuring that all procedural and administrative requirements are met.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing witness files, and helping prepare courtroom presentations.
- Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and trial transcripts, as well as analyze information to assist in legal strategy.
- Handle general office tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and managing correspondence related to legal matters.
Qualifications for the Paralegal:
- 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
- Curious disposition
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Flexibility – ability to work flexible hours, with periodic down-time, and periodic overtime
- Litigation support is a must.
