A well-established civil engineering firm is seeking an experienced Business Unit Leader to oversee a team of engineers, manage project management, drive business growth, and play a pivotal role in high-level strategy within Florida. Ideal candidate will live in Tampa, St. Petersburg, or Sarasota region.
Business Unit Leader – Benefits/Compensation:

Business Unit Leader – Requirements/Qualifications:
- 10+ years leading civil engineers across central and southwest Florida with keen understanding of Florida's regulatory and business landscape.
- Specialize in both private, municipal, and mixed-use developments.
- Expertise in land development, transportation, utility infrastructure, and commercial site planning.
- Professional Engineer license required
- Proven ability to win projects and build client relationships
Business Unit Leader – Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning, business development, and operational execution for assigned business unit
- Ensure quality assurance/control and compliance with regulatory standards
- Supervise department heads, manage staff performance, and mentor future leaders
- Oversee project delivery, client relationships, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration and company-wide resource sharing
- Coordinate and approve proposals, contracts, and scopes of work
