🌟 Plant Production Manager – Quincy, IL
About the Role:
A global brand is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Production Manager to lead operations at our high-performing facility in the Quincy, IL area.
As Plant Production Manager, you will guide and support a dedicated, long-tenured team while driving continuous improvement, production excellence, and a safety-first culture.
This is a highly visible leadership role with strong career growth potential into larger operational leadership roles within our network.
Plant Production Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach the production team (30+ employees) to meet customer, quality, and safety goals.
- Oversee and adjust production schedules to meet changing customer demands.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by driving Lean Six Sigma methodologies and OEE best practices.
- Lead strategic initiatives to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales teams.
- Build and analyze production metrics in Microsoft Power BI to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Support ISO and regulatory compliance (MSHA, IEPA) and maintain strong relationships with auditors and inspectors.
- Manage raw material inventory and coordinate with supply chain partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Foster a respectful, forward-thinking, and engaging work environment that empowers employees and drives innovation.
Plant Production Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of plant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical, plastics, rubber, minerals preferred).
- Proven expertise in Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt certification strongly preferred).
- Hands-on experience implementing and using OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) to drive production improvements.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Power BI (building and analyzing reports) and Oracle EBS or similar ERP systems.
- Track record of leading positive cultural change within a stable, long-tenured workforce.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, collaborative approach to safety and regulatory compliance.
