Maintenance Mechanic – Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing (food industry preferred)
- Hands-on knowledge of carton machines, flow wraps, extruders, labelers, metal detectors, ovens, and conveyors
- Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication (MIG/TIG) and using a multimeter
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
- Strong computer skills for generating maintenance documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team
Maintenance Mechanic – What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and fabricate modifications for processing and packaging machinery, conveyor lines, and automated systems
- Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on facility equipment
- Break down assemblies into components and reassemble without blueprints
- Lubricate machinery and complete PM documentation and work orders
- Develop and implement efficiency, uptime, and safety improvements
- Adhere to GMP/GSP standards and maintain clean, organized maintenance areas
