We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations at two of our premier hotel properties in Northern New Jersey. The ideal candidate will lead all aspects of engineering, maintenance, and capital projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences at both locations.

Area Engineering Manager Role + Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision:
    • Direct and manage two Hotel Engineers across the properties.
    • Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate performance of engineering staff.
    • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and proactive maintenance.
  • Facility Maintenance & Operations:
    • Ensure proper maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for both properties.
    • Conduct regular inspections and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including fire, safety, and environmental codes.
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and safety checks.
    • Lead emergency response planning and preparedness across both hotels.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Collaborate with hotel leadership to promptly resolve maintenance-related guest concerns.
    • Maintain all facilities to brand and quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience in hospitality or commercial building operations.
  • Proven experience managing multiple properties or large facilities preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (MEP, HVAC, BMS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CMMS and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and capital improvement projects.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPO, HVAC, OSHA, EPA Universal) preferred.
