Looking for a Process Design Engineer ready to take ownership of high-impact projects from design to implementation. If you’re excited by technical challenges, working with a small yet mighty team, and contributing to real-world results, this opportunity is for you.
Location: Houston, TX
Compensation: $98K–$120K+ DOE + Commission (TBD)
Relocation: Yes, for qualified candidates
Process Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design & Develop: CIP systems (manual, semi-automated, and fully automated), flash pasteurization systems, and other hygienic process systems.
- Engineer Solutions: Draft detailed P&IDs, flow diagrams, equipment layouts; select pumps, valves, heat exchangers, sensors, and other components.
- System Integration: Collaborate with automation engineers for seamless PLC/HMI integration and process optimization.
- Project Ownership: Support scoping, estimation, fabrication, installation, FAT, and commissioning.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to FDA, USDA, 3-A Sanitary Standards, ASME BPE, and produce BOMs, validation protocols, and O&M documentation.
Process Design Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Food Engineering, Pharma or related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing hygienic processing systems, including CIP and pasteurization.
- Solid knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermal processing, and sanitary system design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 2D/3D CAD software.
- Familiarity with automation systems, PLCs, and process control loops.
- Nice to Have:
- Experience in botanical extraction, food & beverage, cosmetic, health products, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Understanding of heat exchangers (plate, tubular) and associated utilities (steam, water, compressed air).
- Exposure to batching, mixing, and packaging processes.
- No P.E. license required.
