Head of Insurance – Non-Standard Auto | Fully Remote
$150K–$200K base + Equity | Early-Stage Insurtech | High Impact Role
A mission-driven insurtech is seeking a Head of Insurance to lead product strategy, pricing, underwriting, and expansion efforts for its non-standard auto MGA. With a strong foothold in Texas and expansion planned across Florida and additional states, this is a rare opportunity to build and scale an inclusive insurance offering that’s already gained significant traction.

What You’ll Do
- Own all rates, rules, and filings for the MGA product in TX
- Lead expansion into FL and future states (AZ, NM, CO, IL, NV, CA)
- Oversee pricing, underwriting, and risk strategy
- Work closely with tech, product, and external partners (actuarial, fronting carriers, regulators)
- Use data (Excel/SQL) to uncover insights and drive continuous product innovation
- Build and scale the insurance function over time
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in auto insurance; 2+ in product leadership
- Strong knowledge of non-standard auto in TX, FL, IL, CO, AZ, NM, NV and/or CA
- Background in actuarial or underwriting a plus
- Analytical, strategic, and hands-on
- Startup-ready, mission-aligned, and excited to build from the ground up
- Spanish language skills a plus, but not required
