A highly acclaimed, upscale modern American restaurant in Tampa is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join its dynamic culinary team. This confidential opportunity offers the chance to grow with a prestigious hospitality group known for bold flavors, elevated presentations, and exceptional guest experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day kitchen operations in a high-volume, full-scratch kitchen featuring live fire cooking.
- Support a busy operation generating over $8M in annual sales.
- Assist in menu execution, inventory management, and food cost (COGS) control.
- Supervise a large kitchen team while maintaining consistency, high culinary standards, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with leadership on menu development, seasonal specials, and kitchen systems improvements.
- Manage and utilize operational platforms including Restaurant 365, HotSchedules, Toast POS, and 3rd party delivery apps.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and company brand standards.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or strong Lead Line Cook in a high-volume, upscale scratch kitchen.
- Natural use and understanding of professional culinary terminology and techniques.
- Experience working in kitchens that use live fire cooking methods; sushi knowledge is a strong plus, but not required.
- Strong grasp of COGS management fundamentals, inventory, and purchasing practices.
- Open-minded attitude toward mentorship, coaching, and learning at a higher operational level.
